FAQ:

Q: My dream is to retire in five years, but my spouse is worried about how we will live on a reduced income. How can I get his support for this big dream of mine?

A: When you have a big dream or a goal that will affect others but is more than a year away - if you think it might create stress and therefore stall you, a great way to deal with it is to proceed as though you are going to retire now, i.e. live on less, save more, or whatever your plan is, and without having to talk to your spouse about it just yet, begin to show them that it is possible. After all, you have five years to prove yourself!
